To Be Scheduled Soon... Time to dust off those running shoes as its time again for the Jog-4-Moiola jog-a-thon!!
This is one of the biggest Moiola PTA fund-raising event of the year. Students get 'sponsors' to pledge an amount for every lap the run. The more sponsors they get, the more laps they run, the more the Moiola PTA receives in tax-deductable pledges! It's a win-win situation since the participant not only feels a sense of accomplishment by making a difference in their own education, but also to be able to release all that excitement in a healthy excercise environment.
Each participant will be given a Jog-a-thon t-shirt to record each successive lap they've completed. At the end of the event (of if they tire out first!), they get the shirt as a keep-sake to wear proudly!
The funds raised in this event will be utilized to support such activities as Art Masters, Assemblies, After School Clubs, Sport Tournaments, computer technology, and classroom supplies-- to name a few... Our goal this year is to hit the $28,750 target.
Also for $5.00 a guess, kids can try to guess how many laps the principal will complete during the jog-a-thon. Whoever guesses the correct number wins a chance to throw a pie in the principal's face!! If you'd like to try you hand at guessing, click here for the entry form. Good luck!!
Here's How It Works
The students will be running, jogging, or walking laps around the track within a 45-minute time frame which also includes warm-up and cool-down time. The laps will be tallied for each individual by our volunteers. In the past, the tally sheet was printed on the participant's shirts so at the end of the jog-a-thon, the students wear their 'progress' afterwards! The track distances are as follows
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade 220 Yards
3rd - 5th Grade 330 Yards
6th - 8th Grade 440 Yards
Sponsorship
These are the caring businesses and families in our community who donate funds and products to be used as prizes for YOUR kids! Sponsors play a very important role in our fund raising efforts so if you know any companies that are able to financially assist us, please let us know and we'll contact them as soon as possible!
The money we receive from sponsors wil be used to purchase prizes for ALL participants. We want to reward as many students for their efforts as we can.
